For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will. They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for the believers in Jerusalem. They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do.

— 2 Corinthians 8:3-5 (NLT)

For more than 17 years God has blessed and worked through the people of Redemption Christian Church, resulting in thousands of lives being positively impacted and transformed — both locally and around the world. What God has done in the life of this church has been nothing short of amazing. I have some friends from another part of the country that, upon arriving for their first visit at the Jasper Campus, referred to Redemption as a “miracle in the cornfield.” That is a pretty accurate description. God has used many things to bless this church, but none more than the people who have been willing to follow God — in faith — into the uncharted. This church has consistently and constantly followed God, trusting Him in unknown waters, knowing we have a God who does immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.

We are coming up on another critical juncture in the life of this church. We are at the start of a defining season at Redemption. The gospel compels us to many things, and one of the most important is radical generosity. Just as Christ poured out His generosity for us on the cross, we are to pour out our lives as an offering to Him and to others. As God continues to bring opportunities for growth to us as a church, He also brings opportunities for growth to us as individuals. We do not want to be a people who live in the safe zone, the “charted” zone. We want to be a people who live our lives in the UNCHARTED — with a faith beyond the horizon.

We need every one of us to join in as we love God, love people and change the world in even greater and impactful ways.

Over the next two years we want God to work through us to:

• Grow people spiritually by helping them take steps of uncharted faith in gospel-driven generosity.

• Fund and expand the mission of Redemption as we seek to reach people for Christ locally, regionally, and around the world.

• Decrease debt and freeing up more money for the mission of Jesus Christ both locally and around the world.

• Support the new work led by Drew Thurman and the team in Boston as they reach people for Christ in one of the least-churched areas in the United States.

We invite you to join us on this UNCHARTED journey of faith. No one has ever regretted giving to God. Let’s choose to put God first in all things — boldly trusting God in faith beyond the horizon.
