Guest Preacher This Sunday, Rick Atchley

Redemption is honored to have Rick Atchley, the Senior Teaching Minister of The Hills Church (a multi-site church based near Dallas/Forth Worth, Texas, with an attendance of 6,000-plus), joining us this Sunday (May 28) for the conclusion of our “Urban Legends: Spiritual Myths People Believe” sermon series.

You won’t want to miss this important message from Rick. He will be preaching a sermon covering the myth “‘God Will Never Give You More Than You Can Handle …’.” This common phrase takes 1 Corinthians 10:13 out of context. We’ll learn what we should actually be thinking when dealing with hardship and suffering.

We are excited about hearing from Rick, one of the Restoration Movement’s (of which Redemption is a part) most prolific ministers.

Join us on Sunday. Jasper Campus: 9 and 10:30 a.m. Loogootee Campus: 9:15 and 10:45 a.m.

Jasper Campus Names New Children’s Minister

Redemption’s Jasper Campus been searching for a children’s minister since the departure of previous Children’s Minister Hannah Martin in February. A team of six Redemption staff members interviewed several candidates by phone and in person and we are pleased to introduce our new Children’s Minister, Miranda Crow.

Quick Hits:

— Miranda is a 2015 graduate of Johnson University, a Christian Church-affiliated Bible College, with a degree in Children’s Ministry.

— She lives in Jasper and has been a dedicated volunteer with our Spring and Well children’s and teen ministries for several years.

— She interned at Redemption in the summer of 2014 under our previous children’s minister, Hannah Martin.

— Miranda and her family have been with Redemption for several years and she understands our DNA and mission of loving God, loving people, and seeing Him change the world one disciple at a time.

— Miranda is married to Curtis Crow, who is also on staff as Redemption’s Visuals Director. They were married in May 2016.

We are excited for the future of our children’s ministry at the Jasper Campus under Miranda’s leadership. We’re excited to see the vision she’s bringing, but also excited to see her continue the great things happening with kids at Redemption. Miranda will be working under the direction of Campus Minister Ryan Stiles as well as being shaped by the family ministries leadership of Amanda Miller, who is our Loogootee Campus Children’s Minister. Her first day is May 14 and she and we are looking forward to the days ahead.

Redemption Music Open Auditions

Open auditions for Redemption Music (Jasper Campus-focused) are set for Monday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m.

We are always looking for Jesus-loving, committed musicians and singers to form Redemption’s next band or be added to the lineup of a current band. If you have a desire to spread the fame of Jesus to, and with the people of Redemption, through music, the information in this packet is for you. DOWNLOAD THE PACKET HERE.

Before auditioning (and included in the above-linked packet), you will learn about what worship is theologically, the purpose of bands at Redemption, and the time and level of commitment it requires to serve in this way. You will also have a chance to learn about specific needs and connect with other interested people to form a band.

If you’ve ever wanted to glorify Jesus through music, we strongly encourage you to understand what it takes and meet the leaders that can help you get involved.

Nervous about auditioning? Read this blog post for tips on how to prepare from a nearby church.

Please, read the entire (above-linked) PDF, the linked blog post and fill out (completely) the form below. A team of people will be present at the audition to evaluate. Thank you for your interest.

We will be holding auditions on Monday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Worship Center at Redemption’s Jasper campus – 1450 Energy Dr.

+ Vocals: If you desire to audition to be a vocalist (vocals only, no instruments) please submit a voice recording (i.e.: using Garageband, etc., or voice memo from your phone) of the song of your choice (from the choices listed below). Your demo may be a cappella or include instrumental accompaniment. Please submit your recording no later than Monday, May 1 to DANIEL ROSS. In your email please also include your name, phone number and title of your song. Your voice recording will be reviewed by the Redemption audition panel, after which you will receive an email letting you know whether to attend the live audition on Monday, May 8 or not.

+ Instruments: If you desire to audition to play an instrument at Redemption, there is no need to submit a recording. Simply fill out the form below and attend the auditions on May 8. Note: We value each player’s individual style and tastes and often shape bands based on a player’s God-given tendencies and talents. Do not let the sample audio stand in the way of your creativity or ability to learn the song. Bring your own “voice” to each song, but know the basic structure and arrangement of each song and play to compliment it.

+ Instrumentalist WITH VOCALS: There is no need to submit a recording. Simply fill out the form below and attend the auditions on May 8. Learn vocal melody and harmonies (if applicable/possible) for the same three songs.
